Passage Poems: #1
by Miles Raymer
When you go, get gone with grace,
Meeting wind, earth, cool and calm,
Be light, like you showed me,
Cast your crooked smile and disappear.
When you go, fill up that space,
Churning memory, identity, bits and bobs,
Be you, like you showed me,
Your ever and only one last time.
When you go, take nothing with you,
Leaving pain, pleasure, fear and doubt,
Be still, like you showed me,
A tree poised to fall yet unyielding.
When you go, try something new,
Journey far, vistas, tags and bags,
Be brave, like you showed me,
Crossing courage with laughter.
When you go, get gone for good,
Tracing lines, ink, starts and stops,
Be one, like you showed me,
With the quiet that you came from.
Please read this when I die.
Happy to! Let’s hope that I don’t get to fulfill this promise for a LONG time. 🙂
I so appreciate and love this poem.
