“Our way of conducting business has outgrown our planet. Our organizations contribute on a massive scale to depleting natural resources, destroying ecosystems, changing the climate, exhausting water reserves and precious topsoils. We are playing a game a brinksmanship with the future, betting that more technology will heal the scars modernity has inflicted on the planet. Economically, a model of ever more growth with finite resources is bound to hit a wall; the recent financial crises are possibly only tremors of larger earthquakes to come. It is probably no exaggeration, but sad reality, that the very survival of many species, ecosystems, and perhaps the human race itself hinges on our ability to move to higher forms of consciousness and from there collaborate in new ways to heal our relationship with the world and the damage we’ve caused.”

Hi Miles. I agree that many organizations are the main contributors to destroying our planet. The industrial revolution had a massive negative effect on the environment. Carbon emissions and pollution deteriorate our atmosphere and natural environment. So, I appreciate that you’ve come up with this post. Hopefully, more people and organizations will be aware of this issue. But I wonder if there are companies that make an effort to reduce their environmental impact and have a concern for the next generations.
